Can I call myself a #OUAI girl yet? Maybe not quite, but I am definitely head over heels for this skyrocketing brand.
Kardashian hair stylist, Jen Atkins developed a full line of hair products that has completely taken off and has become one of the biggest trending products in the beauty world. Obviously, I had to get my hands on it! It didn’t take me long to jump into my car and head over to Sephora to see what I could spoil myself with (not that I needed any more personal shopping trips). My excitement over the products quickly came to a stop when I realized the price. $35 for a shampoo!? Absolutely not. I decided to start small and invest in the hair oil. It was at a much more reasonable price and my hair was in a major need for some hydration and TLC so it seemed fit.
I have now been using this oil for almost three months now and I wished I had known about it earlier. I am almost out of the bottle and I am cherishing every last drop of it. Having extremely damaged, bleached hair I have the best canvas to see if a product works or not, and boy does this one work. I use it every day after getting out of the shower into my damp hair and then I use a little bit more once my hair is styled to add an extra bit of shine. It’s really impressive and it keeps my hair silky smooth (until I coat it with hairspray).
Since I loved the oil so much I became convinced that this line had some sort of magic in their formula and I decided to take the dive into the OUAI Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. Yes, it still makes me cringe when I think about the fact that I spent almost $70 on hair wash… BUT I would spend it again..and again..and again.
Although these two bad boys cost a pretty penny, you can tell that they were formulated truly for the benefit of the consumer. These products do make your hair feel like it got a re-vamp because I felt results after the first wash and I kept loving it more and more with every use. The floral rose scent is so beautiful and makes my entire shower feel clean and Zen. Initially when using the shampoo I thought I was going to hate it. The shampoo hardly lathers and it can be quite difficult to massage in. I kept working at it and eventually it coated all of my hair. (After doing a little bit of research I learned that shampoos that don’t lather as easily are actually better for your hair. It means it is being more gentle and only stripping the impurities from your hair, leaving the natural oils and the “good stuff”.) After rinsing and adding the conditioner my mind was changed. My hair instantly felt soft and silky and I couldn’t stop running my fingers through it. There were no knots or tangles; it was glorious.
I know that the feeling of your hair in the shower can be very different once it dries, so I put it to the test of both air dried and blow-dried hair. My hair dried so smoothly and it had more volume than usual. It styled to beautifully and I felt really good about myself!
And feeling good about yourself is what the beauty world is all about, right? I’m sure that there are many other brands out there that do a great job in repairing the hair that are much cheaper, but if you were interested in trying out the OUAI brand I would encourage it. We’ll see how long it lasts and if it is truly worth the while, but as of right now I am completely sold! Now, I’m even more excited to try out the rest of the line!
