Need I say more? The title says it all. But, ill tell you more anyways.
Within the past few weeks I’ve had the opportunity to be sponsored by Sarah’s Soaps, and was able to try out some of her amazing products that I’ve been tempted to get my hands on for a while. As you probably know from previous posts, I’ve been having a lot of skin/stomach problems and I’ve been in a process of discovering the culprits to my troubles. Not only have I changed my diet to a vegan plant-based diet, I’ve also been interested in leaning towards a more natural skin care line. So, when Sarah contacted me to see if I was interested in trying out some of her products I was extremely excited.
Sarah’s Soaps, as the title explains, is a handcrafted, natural, vegan skincare line. Sarah created these products with the intention of not only loving our bodies with natural ingredients, including plant based oils and butters, but also the loving of our planet. That’s why each and every one of her products in packaged in recyclable materials, and the simple chic design is every minimalists dream. Seriously, the packaging is so dreamy.
Not only is the packaging to die for, but the message behind the products is as well. Sarah is keen on making sure each and every product is made with love and care and that’s why she hand creates every.single.product. That’s something that truly gives me comfort knowing I’m putting something on my skin that hasn’t been produced carelessly and improperly.
When Sarah reached out to me she made sure to be aware of what kind of skin I had and what results I was looking for. Clearly, she wants the best for her customers and truly cares about individual results. She happily explained to me 4 products that would help with my dry and sensitive skin and my interest in anti-aging properties. Here’s what I’ve been loving:
1. APRICOT + BENZOIN – facial serum
Out of all the products I tried from Sarah’s Soaps I would have to say this was my favourite! This is an oil-based serum that hydrates the skin to incredible lengths and leaves my skin feeling supple and radiant. The benzoin properties of this serum are known to rehydrate skin, which inhibits the aging process, and the apricot oil keeps the skin toned & firm. Right up my alley.
I will note that I only use this product at night. I apply about 3 pumps to my face, neck, and décolleté. I start by applying it with light tapping motions and then I spread it evenly across all the surfaces. Since it is thick I find it a little too much for day time use, but it keeps my skin hydrated all through the night until morning. Creates the perfect canvas for the next day.
2. RHASSOUL + YLANG YLANG – clay mask
This was more of a two in one product to me because I quickly found out you can use it in more than one way. This mask is a dehydrated formula that needs to be rehydrated into order to use. To rehydrate, you simply add the liquid of choice. Traditionally, water would be used to rehydrate, but other liquids like the serum I spoke about just prior is an alternative method. I tried the mask both ways, with water and with the apricot + benzoin serum.
It is such a cool concept of seeing the mask come to life as you rehydrate it. It quickly liquidizes from its original chalk-like state, which allows you to smooth it all over the face. I will say I do prefer the mask when it was used with the serum. I found it to be much more hydrating and soothing, and really made my skin feel glowy. And we all know I’m all about the glow.
If you’re like me ylang ylang (e-lang e-lang) was something that I had never heard of before, so I was curious to find out more. It turns out that the essential oil that omits off of ylang ylang has benefits not only to the skin, but to the mind as well. It is proven that ylang ylang essential oil is used to inhibit the brain to let go of anger that had been stored in the back of our minds. It has a releasing and calming effect, which couldn’t be better when trying to have a relaxing spa night. It makes sense how the physical properties of the product removing toxins and bacteria ties into the emotional properties of removing anger and frustration. It is truly amazing what natural products can do for our bodies and the endless possibilities of benefits for our overall well-being.
3. BUTT NAKED – lip butter
Not much more to say than what the title already did. This lip balm is butt naked. It gives a silky feel to the lips making them feel nice and smooth. What’s nice about this one is it’s not heavily scented. Sometimes it’s nice to have a neutral scent and not something that you’re constantly tempted to lick off your lips. Perfect for the everyday application.
4. COCOA MINT – lip butter
.. And for those of you who want something that literally smells good enough to eat (not advising you to, but I mean you probably could) you NEED, and I mean NEED to try out this lip butter. Since going vegan, the one true thing I kind of miss are Andies Chocolate Mints (don’t tell me you’ve never had one!). For Christmas every year our stocking use to be filled with packs of them, and smelling this lip butter instantly brought me back to that feeling of family and childhood.
This lip butter’s peppermint base brings a tingling feeling to the lips and the cocoa leaves me feeling moisturized and velvety. It has a slight exfoliating effect to it, which I really like as well.
As usual, I could go on and explain my thoughts into an infinite depth but I think I’ll end it here. Well maybe not quite, there is one more thing. Sarah’s Soap has offered to provide my readers and followers with a checkout code that can be used for 15% off all online orders. USE CODE “LIKESOFLISS” to receive 15% discount at checkout! This generous offer has me so excited, because it allows so many more people to treat their skin with the natural goodies that Sarah’s Soaps is.
Okay, now really, I’ll end it here. Please let me know if you have any questions on my updated use with these products and let me know if there are any Sarah’s Soaps products you have tried. I am excited to keep trying and learning more about this amazing line.
